In my first post to the class webpage, I will talk about theory of mind. As disused through the textbook, theory of the mind is the ability to understand that someone else has information you don’t, or that someone lacks information that you have. In other words, it is the ability to understand people act in a way that is motivated by their own desires. This ability of self-awareness is usually developed between the ages of 4-5 when children begin to think of other thoughts and feelings. For example, Camilla sees a spider neat her sister Rory. Camilla knows that Rory is afraid of spiders, so she intentionally steps on the spider before Rory sees it.
